Science &
Technology.

Our proprietary science, technology and engineering can transform New Zealand primary producers from carbon emitters to carbon capturers.

A meaningful difference for the competitiveness of our primary producers. A meaningful difference for New Zealand.

We upcycle waste streams and combinations of waste streams, to produce carbon-based products.

Introducing the next generation of pyrolysis.

Our technology solves the energy-in conundrum that has historically challenged the commercial production of biochar.

Our machine is built for the production of high grade biochar at scale. Its edge is in the simplicity of design and the proprietary approach which enables the machine to fuel itself through reticulation of the gas produced to control the use of air, combustion and temperature in the pyrolysis process.

Our pyrolysis technology utilises negative cost biomass (like pine and grape marc) to produce high-quality heat, high grade (85%) biochar and the generation of carbon credits.

Biochar is a black, lightweight solid made of carbon – the building block of life. Used as a stock feed supplement it improves animal health and production, improves nutrient intake and reduces the amount of methane gas the animal produces.

Used on the land, as biochar or as part of a carbon based soil stimulant, it returns carbon to the soil, where it boosts nutrient levels to increase production and continues to sequester carbon – while simultaneously retaining moisture. This makes the soil more resistant to drought and reduces the amount of synthetic inputs needed.

The amount of carbon captured and returned to the land is independently verified. This will give our clients’ the opportunity to measure the reduction in carbon and promote their goods using our accreditation system known as ‘The Green Circle tick’.

Our other proprietary process involves Hydrolysis.

The Green Circle has developed a cold enzymic aerobic digestion process that converts mortality King Salmon and Mussel shell protein into a high value, premium hydrolysate. This process preserves and captures lipids, peptides, amino acids, omegas and rich nutrients to enable us to make high value biostimulants and biological fertilisers.

The Green Circle has developed a brine solution that preserves the fish and muscle waste from the farm or factory. This process eliminates the odour and stops decay, meaning that all of the valuable nutrients are retained and there is no off gassing.
